Wearing of Helmets by wicketkeepers in Youth Leagues

A reminder to all clubs that rule 17 of the East & South Dorset Youth Leagues states:-

'Helmets are mandatory for all batsmen and wicketkeepers'

We are experiencing an unusually long period of hot weather at present, but some managers have raised the issue of wicketkeepers not wearing a helmet when standing back. They are concerned that if they, or their umpire, does not enforce the rule, and an injury occures, they would be liable.

Therefore, would all clubs please respect this rule. It can be discussed, and, if necessary, amended, at our AGM

Youth Players In Adult Cricket

Reminder to all clubs of rules regarding youth players competing in adult cricket:-

Players in the U13 age group, can play in adult cricket if it is considered appropriate to their development. However, they will need prior written parental consent to play.

Players in the U14 age group and above, are free to play in adult cricket
