The Dorset Cricket Board have organised a Dorset W&Gs Champions course to run on the 4th and 15th of April at Lytchett Manor Sports Centre, BH16 6JD.
Even though it is called a 'Champions' course it is open to anyone in the W&Gs game to attend. This course is being put on at a heavily subsidised price to those that wish to attend. A Coach Support Worker course will run on Day 1, this is aimed at developing a candidates skills in supporting a coach during a session. Day 2 is aimed at training clubs on umpiring and scoring. The 2 days are separate from each other so if someone wishes to attend just Day 1 of the course they can do, similarly if they just wanted to attend Day 2 of the course they can as well. If they want to attend both days then they will need to sign up separately for each day.
With a number of clubs hosting or playing in W&Gs competitions over the summer where umpires and scorers are needed the Umpiring and Scoring day will be perfect for volunteers from host clubs to attend or for the W&Gs players to attend themselves in case they are required to umpire any matches in the summer.
We are able to provide this course to the W&Gs clubs through the ECB funding we have received to support W&Gs cricket in Dorset in 2020. This course is available to anyone involved in W&Gs cricket to attend and the only cost is £20 for the Coach Support Worker day.
Please feel free to pass this information to any of your women members, players or officials. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the game with the aim of assisting teams to become more self sufficient in running their own matches or training in the future.
As the course is over 2 days and those interested have the option of attending either 1 or both days within the link provided below:
