Up until the COVID-19 lockdown, we were projected to have our best ever year in terms of Chance to Shine delivery in schools, with increased delivery forecast in participation, hours, teachers trained and assembly delivery. We believed that this would have translated successfully into getting more All Stars, Dynamos, Girls & Street participants. Unfortunately, we will have to look to rebuild in 2020 to have a really successful 2021.
In this short impact report, you will find details of our delivery – we have been as transparent as we can be as we want you to be part of the journey of growing cricket. We explore case studies that go beyond the statistics: from sisters Alia & Ebony who tried cricket at our Street Poole Centre, to Stalbridge CC whose Chairman says that around 40 of their members have come through the Chance to Shine schools programme over the years. We also look at our successful trial of Glow-in-the-Dark Cricket (!), which helped us establish a new girls club in Weymouth.
