The Dorset Cricket Board in partnership with Chance to Shine are delighted to release our Schools Delivery Map for 2019/2020.
This map will tell you:
- Which schools we are delivering Chance to Shine programmes in
- Which coach is delivering this cricket & when the delivery is taking place
- How this links up with local cricket clubs & All Stars centres
- How we try and allocate schools to All Stars cricket centres
The map is designed as a tool so you can understand where we are delivering and who is delivering, so your club can link up directly with your community coach to, for example, help deliver flyers and promote your club, or to time social media posts.
Please do get in touch with your community coach (details below)
How to read the map:
Black pin - Chance to Shine school. Click on the pin to reveal details about the delivery
Orange pin - All Stars centre (2019 data)
Green pin - Junior club that didn't run All Stars in 2018
Blue pin - Street centre
Orange lines - indicates an All Star's centre's rough catchment area. Please note this is a guide. We promote All Stars cricket & all local club offers. We can't determine which club the child may join afterwards. Where a school intersects between two catchment areas we are generally looking to promote both clubs.
We aim to provide one Chance to Shine full programme per every junior club & we look to deliver as many roadshows as possible (one off days of cricket in schools with an assembly). A 'full programme' is around 12 hours of delivery per class, and we generally work with 2-3 classes per school. We also delivery an assembly & teacher training to be able to deliver cricket sessions in PE.
Please note we have contacted every school & every School Games Organiser to promote Chance to Shine. In an ideal world, every school would want to host Chance to Shine and we would deliver an equal amount of delivery for every club. This is unfortunately not always the case, but we aim to work with around 70% of Dorset primary, first, infant and junior schools.
If you want your local schools to have Chance to Shine and link up with your club please do not hesitate to get in touch with our Youth Participation Development Officer - James Mitchell - James.mitchell@dorsetcricketboard.co.uk. Additionally, contacting the school directly would help us as they know that our delivery is linked to a local club.
