The trust is a registered charity (Charity No. 1174093) that supports young people under the age of 18, living in Dorset. Financial assistance can be given to help individuals who have moved up to the 'next level' in their chosen sport and incurred extra expense in doing so. A club player selected for district cricket, or a district player moving on to county level for example. Financial support can also be given where a recent change in home circumstances has resulted in a reduced family income which could threaten the young persons ability to continue playing at his/her current level.
Although grants can be awarded for participation in any sport, cricket is a 'focus' when the trustees consider applications. This is because Ed himself loved the game and played for Bere Regis and South Dorset.
Previous grants have helped with the cost of additional match fees, travel, accommodation where necessary, additional kit and additional coaching/training costs. The amount awarded varies, but is generally between £200 and £1000 per year.
Applications can be made at any time by using the online form from the trust website - see the link below - Just look for the "Apply for a Grant" page.
