Coaches receive recognition

Dorset coaches received recognition at the Dorset Coaches Association AGM for all the Hard work and achievement. Clive Moore came to Wimborne to present a certificate and £50 Gift Voucher to each of the Coaches and thanked them for their excellent work.  

EAST

David Lay – Bransgore David has been involved in the junior section for many years and has been instrumental in developing it to the current size running 8 sections from U9 to U17.

Steve Bishopp – Wayfarers and District.Steve has been instrumental in developing the junior section at Ferndown/Wayfarers as well as a successful East District side

Alan Graham – Parley, district and county.For many years Alan has been involved in all aspects of junior cricket and has contributed hugely to club, district and county.

SOUTH

Julian Snook - Over the last few seasons, has run sides and been involved with coaching both Wayfarers and Broadstone.  He has nurtured and developed a number of youth players in league teams to support and introduce them to adult cricket.

Nick Jordan - Nick has worked had over the last few years to develop and strengthen the youth section at Corfe Mullen cricket club. He  encouraged youth links with local schools and has run numerous sides as more players have joined the club. 

Mike Fisher - Mike has been a ploughing a lone furrow at Hamworthy for a number of years running as many sides as he can possibly handle with great success over the last few years, despite many big clubs around. He also runs a district squad, and aids during the winter programme other squads if requested. Mike has been one of the longest serving members of the South Dorset Coaching Teams.

WEST

Pete 'Tommy' Tucker - Tommy contributes to his local club - Dorchester , but it is his huge contribution to developing and sustaining the Dorset Disabled side that is outstanding. For a number of years he has steadfastly supported the winter indoor training sessions and the outdoor matches during the summer season.

Hugh Lawes – Weymouth, district and county.Hugh has been hugely involved with the development of junior cricket for many years. He is the mainstay of junior development at Weymouth and has made significant contribution to West Dorset and Dorset over the years.

Eddie Clark – West District coach.Eddie has been hugely influential in setting up competitions both in the school environment and as part of West Dorset CA running the Summer Leagues results service and producing the table. Eddies roles as an SSCO has enabled him to provide the perfect knowledge and skills to establish strong School to Club links in the Lyme Regis area.

NORTH

John Dike – (Stalbridge) John started and nurtured junior cricket at Stalbrige and has been instrumental in the growth of the junior section to its current size.

Nick Dyke – Bradford Abbas Nick has been instrumental in developing, running and growing the junior section at Milton Abbas for many, many years. Without his input there would be no junior section.

Derek Lamb – Milton Abbas. Derek started, nurtured and grew the junior section at Milton Abbas over many years. His contribution to the club has been immense.

 

Without people like you, cricket would not be sustainable in the rural districts. The Dorset coaches local rewards and recognition scheme allows us to recognise this in a small way.
