Cricket for Teachers
A 4 hour rather than a 6 hour module, within which teachers are introduced to the how-2 and what-2 skills through a TGFU (teaching games for understanding) approach. The PE curriculum content and terminology (aspects of knowledge) is integrated, there fore the coaches who come through the WiS pathway will have a common pathway and experience which should act as the basis for greater understanding and improved working relationship. This programme is aligned to the UKCC Level 1 learning programme and as such there is the opportunity for teachers to access a cricket coaching qualification.
Chance to Shine in partnership with the ECB has the opportunity to be at the cutting edge at bringing the worlds of education and coaching together.
Development Considerations:
- Conversion course for teachers.
- Chance to shine agenda.
- Module 1 would need to be both a stand alone and progression onto module 2 which provides access to UKCC 1.

Accessing UKCC Level 1 Qualification
There may be the potential for teachers to gain access to the qualification by being independently assessed in their work place by an assessor at a mutually convenient time. This would need to be ratified by 1st4sport and quality assurance considerations addressed. Group assessment opportunities could be arranged via the County Boards and the PDM network.
