Volunteer Organisations
There are many organisations dedicated to the recruitment of volunteers that could provide assistance to help you find a volunteering opportunity or to list your vacant roles within your club.
Vinspired
vinspired believes in free. We do favours for free - and by doing them we can open the doors to do more of the things we want to do.
V is an independent charity aiming to inspire a new generation of volunteers (aged 16-25) in England. We do this by funding voluntary organisations all over England to create inspiring, diverse opportunities and by helping to overcome barriers that stop people from taking action to improve lives, communities and the planet. Our aim is to create a culture where volunteering comes naturally – and where the benefits of volunteering are understood and celebrated.
Volunteer Centres
www.volunteeringengland.org.uk
A Volunteer Centre could be described as a dating agency for volunteers! Organisations requiring volunteers go to a Volunteer Centre and people keen to volunteer go to a Volunteer Centre as well. Then, the Volunteer Centre matches the placement to the individual.
Running Sport
We spend our time helping you make the most of yours. The life of a sports volunteer is far from easy. And that's what we're here to fix.
Created and funded by Sport England, running sport support sports volunteers and the people who manage them, and do everything in their power to make sure clubs not only survive, but also grow and thrive.
Whatever sport you're involved in, whichever level you work at, running sport have a huge number of resources that can help you save time, access funding, attract more members - you name it running sport can make life easier. What’s more, much of the help running sport can give you is FREE.
British Universities & Colleges Sport
There are many ways to volunteer within student sport ranging from student sports clubs at your university to a BUCS Championship final at a national level.
BUCS relies heavily on over 2000 volunteers to run events in 50 sports and this is without taking into consideration those team captains, coaches, managers and officials who take part in the largest league programme in Europe.
Community Service Volunteers (CSV)
Community Service Volunteers (CSV) was founded in 1962 by Mora and Alec Dickson who also founded Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO).
The aim of our founders was to involve young people aged 16-35 in voluntary service in the UK, to enrich the lives of volunteers and those they help and to generate social change.
Do-It
This site is an ideal recruitment and marketing tool for volunteer-involving organisations.
Furthermore, it provides a free advertising opportunity for agencies to recruit volunteers and promote their organisation at the same time.
REACH
The aim of REACH is to recruit and support people with managerial, professional, business and technical experience and match them with part-time, voluntary roles throughout the UK.
UK Youth
Provides for young people's participation and promotes learning opportunities through programmes and projects dealing with a number of activities, including sport.
Duke of Edinburgh Award
A Duke of Edinburgh programme is a real adventure from beginning to end. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from. You just need to be aged between 14 and 24 and realise there’s more to life than sitting on a sofa watching life pass you by.
You can do programmes at three levels, Bronze, Silver or Gold, which lead to a Duke of Edinburgh's Award. You achieve an Award by completing a personal programme of activities in four sections (five if you're going for Gold).
You'll find yourself helping people or the community, getting fitter, developing skills, going on an expedition and taking part in a residential activity (Gold only). But here's the best bit - you get to choose what you do!
Your programme can be full of activities and projects that get you buzzing. And along the way you’ll pick up experiences, friends and talents that will stay with you for the rest of your life.
TIMEBANK
TimeBank is basically the voluntary sector's PR machine. They want to increase the number of volunteers out there and to do this they endeavour to make volunteering, in whatever guise, look 'sexy'!
Contact them if you are holding some sort of event - NatWest CricketForce for example - that you think would positively raise the profile of volunteers working in the world of cricket.
Prince's Trust
The Prince's Trust works with young people aged between 14-30. They believe that every young person has potential, but that many don't have the opportunity to fulfil it.
Business in the Community
Business in the Community is a membership organisation that mobilises business for good.
They work across four impact areas - workplace, marketplace, environment and community.
The Experience Corps
The Experience Corps is an independent, non-profit making company funded by a grant-in-aid from the Home Office.
Their role is to encourage people over the age of 50 to offer their skills, talent and experience to local organisations that could benefit from them.
RSVP
Retire and Senior Volunteer Programme encourages the growing number of those aged 50+ to volunteer in their local area.
