The Dorset Cricket League team entries registration is now open and closes on the 31st October 2023.

Please see below for the email that was sent out to the club by the Dorset Cricket League. You will find key information below as well as the link to register teams for 2024.

Dear Club Secretary/contact,

Please note that in some cases, this will be received by more than one person in a club. Make sure you don't enter teams more than once!

It’s time to enter your team(s) for the 2024 Wessex Internet Dorset Cricket League and Women’s Leagues. The deadline for entries is 23:59 on TUESDAY 31st OCTOBER.

Please note that this is NOT the same as your club affiliation to Cricket Dorset and ECB. This process merely enters your team(s) for the appropriate league(s) in 2024. “Affiliation”, due in early 2024, is however, a requirement for all clubs with teams in these leagues.

Please click on the link below to complete the entry form and to make payment. Entry fees are being held at the same rate for another season, so £40 per team for the DCL Saturday League and £10 per team for each of the Women’s league competitions.

As entries need to be in before the AGM, you will see when you get to the entry form itself that this year we are offering the option of ‘provisional entry’ for teams potentially to be placed in DCL County Divisions 6 and 7 only which may, depending on a vote at the AGM, become two regionalised Division 6s. We acknowledge that this may affect some clubs’ desire to enter a team at this level and don’t want teams not to be entered because of uncertainty. No payment will be necessary at this stage for a provisional entry, giving the opportunity for withdrawal of the team should the AGM vote not be in line with your club’s desire. Provisional entry is therefore free for now, with payment only becoming due for those teams opting to remain when the result of the AGM vote is known.

N.B. Of course, should the outcome of the AGM vote on regionalisation have no consequence to your team entry, then by all means enter and make payment as normal without using the ‘provisional entry’ option.

Teams currently qualifying for this option are:

Poole Town 5ths, Swanage 3rds, Verwood, Charlton Down 2nds, Dorchester 3rds, Marnhull 3rds, Royal Challengers Sports 2nds, Sturminster & Hinton 2nds, Chalke Valley Lions, Broadstone 4ths, Blandford 3rds, Compton House 2nds and any new team entries.

Please also note that until we have received all entries it is not possible to be certain that the above list of teams is totally accurate. Should any team not listed above find that it is placed in the affected division(s) after the entry deadline date, it will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
